Twenty One Days of Prayer & Fasting

Every January, we commit 21 days to God through prayer and fasting. During this time, we seek his presence, provision, and direction for our own lives and for Canvas Church. The fast will begin at sundown on January 5th and conclude with a special Worship Night on January 26th at Canvas Church.

We believe that when we give the first of our year to God, he honors that by blessing the rest. Join us as we seek God for 21 days together!

Types of Fasts

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that involves depriving oneself of something in order to increase ones focus on God. Fasting is referenced as a valuable tool in both the old and new testaments.

Scripture References — Matthew 6:16-18; Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13; Mark 2:18-22; Luke 4:1-4

Soul Fast — Going without something that demands a lot of your intention outside of your work/family life. (ex. social media, technology, gaming, etc.)

Selective Fast — Going without certain food/drink items for the entirety of the fast. (ex. coffee, meat, sweets, etc.)

Partial Fast — Going without a particular meal or meals of the day for the entirety of the fast.

Complete Fast — Going without any food or drink other than water for the entirety of the fast.

Focus The First Of Your Year On God Through Prayer & Fasting

We take 21 days at the beginning of every year to focus our hearts and minds on God through prayer and fasting. This initiative will take place beginning at sundown on January 7th, 2024.

Daily prayers will be sent out as push notifications on the Canvas Church app to guide your daily practice of prayer. Download the Canvas Church app by searching “Canvas FL” in your app store. See a detailed description of different fasting options in our ‘Types of Fasts’ section.

We believe that everyone deserves to feel comfortable and have the opportunity to worship Jesus with their church family.

In order to help you or your loved one feel more comfortable during service we offer sensory bags at our Welcome Center! Our sensory bags include headphones and several sensory toys for most ages.
