WHO WE ARE

In 2008, Canvas Church had it's first official gathering in a living room with 18 people and started as Christ Central Alachua. What God has done in and through Canvas since then has been nothing short of amazing. After eight years of meeting in four different portable environments, on October 13, 2015 Canvas purchased the 60,000 sqft. Oak Hill Plaza in the heart of Alachua to become our permanent facility! Today, 54 different zip codes attend Canvas from 32 cities all over the North Florida region and we would love to have you as a part of the growing Canvas Church family!

WHY CANVAS?

The name Canvas Church was inspired by Ephesians 2:10 which says, "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." We believe that our lives are His canvas, where He creates something uniquely beautiful as we pursue a life with Him. No matter what your past or present may be, we believe that God can do something incredible in your life.

EBENEZER

After eight years in four different portable environments, Canvas Church moved into a permanent facility that can only be described as the true provision of God. We do not take this for granted, but instead give thanks for this incredible tool. In the book of 1 Samuel, the people of Israel name a stone Ebenezer saying "God has helped us every step of the way." They do so to commemorate God's faithfulness. At Canvas, we have dedicated a piece of our own facility for this same reason, to remember God's faithfulness in blessing our church with an incredible landmark in the center of our city.
