Grow in Your Faith
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:16–17 (NLT)
If you’re beginning your journey of faith or wanting to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus, we’re here to walk with you. At Canvas Church, you’ll find resources and next steps to help you grow stronger in your faith and closer to Him every day.
Who Is Jesus?
Jesus isn’t distant—He wants a real relationship with you. Discover who He is and what that means for your life.
01 /We’ve All Missed the Mark
The Bible reminds us that none of us are perfect—we’ve all fallen short of what God intended for us.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
— Romans 3:23 (NLT)
02 /God’s Love Made a Way
Even in our brokenness, God didn’t turn away. He showed His love by sending Jesus to take our place and restore what was lost.
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
— Romans 5:8 (NLT)
03 /Eternal Life Is a Gift
God offers forgiveness and new life—not something we can earn, but a gift we can receive through Jesus.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23 (NLT)
04 /Jesus Took Our Place
Jesus lived a sinless life so He could stand in our place and make us right with God.
“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)
05 /Salvation Is Yours to Receive
When you believe in Jesus and openly declare Him as Lord, God promises to save you.
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
— Romans 10:9 (NLT)
What It Means to Follow Jesus
Two thousand years ago, Jesus said two simple words that changed everything: “Follow Me.” Those words weren’t just for a moment in history—they’re for us today.
Following Jesus means learning to live the way He lived—growing in character, faith, and love. It’s not about perfection; it’s about progress. Through discipleship, we learn to know God more deeply, live out His truth in everyday life, and help others do the same.
At our church, we believe discipleship is a journey that moves us from spiritual curiosity to spiritual maturity. It’s how our faith takes root and starts to shape who we are and how we live.
Spiritual Disciplines
“Discipline” isn’t a word most people love, but it simply means training. Just like physical exercise builds strength, spiritual practices help us grow strong in our relationship with God. As you get to know who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him, you’ll need that kind of spiritual training to stay grounded and overcome life’s challenges.
Practicing spiritual disciplines teaches us how to stay close to God, understand His heart, live out our faith with others, and share His love with the world.

The Sabbath is a 24-hour time period set aside to stop, rest, delight, and worship. It is the best day of the week. In our era of chronic exhaustion, emotional unhealth, and spiritual stagnation, few things are more necessary than the recovery of this ancient practice.
-
Prayer is simply the medium through which we communicate and commune with God. The practice of prayer is learning to set aside dedicated time to intentionally be with God in order to become like him and partner with him in the world.
-
Fasting is going without food for a set amount of time to awaken our body and soul to our deep hunger and need for God. It’s one of the most powerful — and neglected — of all of Jesus’ practices.
-
Distraction is one of the greatest threats to spiritual health in the modern world.
We all feel it — we’re bombarded by noise like never before. Jesus has an invitation for us: Step away from it all to be alone with him, for the sake of our souls and the sake of others.
-
We’re made in the image of a happy, generous God. When we practice generosity, we live according to our design and tap into God’s joy.

How do we read Scripture in the age of scrolling and skimming?
The library we call “the Bible” can connect us to God and change who we are, but distraction, hurry, and confusion can hinder our experience with these ancient texts. Rediscover how to engage Scripture as an apprentice to Jesus.

In a lonely, fractured culture, Jesus offers a new kind of family.
Despite the unprecedented connectivity of the modern era, genuine community is vanishing. Isolation, transience, and superficiality can sabotage our formation into people of mature love. But through Jesus, we enter a new kind of family that offers intimacy, joy, healing, and commitment.
-
Love is the hallmark of Jesus’ followers, but what does it look like? In the Way of Jesus, it means offering hidden acts of service to those right in front of us, allowing ourselves to be interrupted by unexpected needs, and overlapping our lives with those on the margins.
-
We live in a culture that often meets difference with hostility, but Jesus calls us to meet people with hospitality. The practice of witness is sharing the love and truth of Christ with others—through both our words and our way of life.
Whether it’s opening your home, extending a kind word, or building a long-term friendship, witnessing is more than something we do; it’s something that shapes who we are. As we share the hope of Jesus, we’re reminded of how deeply He welcomed us.
