Canvas Church Internship Experience

Who is the internship experience for?

Our Internship Experience is ideally suited for college students who want to understand the inner workings of a growing church, in order to determine if they might be interested in pursuing a career in ministry. However, the program is not limited to this type of applicant.

How many hours per week do interns work?

Our interns will be asked to work 20 hours per week. This schedule will be semi-flexible based on your availability. Sundays are required along with two weekdays.

What will I learn?

Our internship experience was created to help individuals discover if a career in ministry could be for them. It’s designed to make them more aware of their strengths, weaknesses, passions, and identities. They get the opportunity to play a role in the weekly tasks required to make Sundays and events possible. They will be personally developed through trainings, conversations with staff members, and hands on experience. Our goal is that interns will develop a better understanding of what their next steps in life should be and will feel more equipped to take those steps.

  • 20 hours per week (including every Sunday)

Where can I intern?

Worship

Our worship department creates engaging worship experiences for our Sunday services, student services, and special Canvas Church events. Working in this area will require an understanding of music, the ability to work within a team setting, and the ability to play an instrument effectively in a worship environment.

Production

Canvas Church Production is responsible for creating distraction-free worship experiences through technology that ultimately allow people to engage with Jesus during our services. Working in this area will require an understanding of at least one specific production discipline (sound, lighting, live video, etc.) and a teachable spirit.

Creative

Our creative department is responsible for creating engaging content for both online, and in-person settings. This includes graphics, video, and environments. Working in this area requires a basic understanding of design principles, an eye for aesthetics, a driven work ethic, and the willingness to learn new things.
